If There is Love, There is Always Hope. Yes, Even You.
On the Brink? Please consider Couples Counseling even if you feel like it may be too late to save your relationship. I specialize in helping couples who are in crisis or who are contemplating permanent separation. Clients often walk into my office stating that they have already taken the initial step of ending the relationship. Extensive training in Couples and Family Therapy at Denver Family Institute, Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Narrative Therapy and Sex Therapy guides the work that I do in helping couples achieve deep healing and connection. I also offer Sex Therapy and LGBTQ+ Support for partnerships with more specific aspects.
Relationships Bring Up All the Hard Stuff
Relationships can be joyous and life giving, but they can also be hard work often leading to feelings of disconnection and emotional distress. Most of us have never been taught to communicate effectively, engage in a vulnerable way with others or connect from an authentic place in ourselves. When in a couple, talks often escalate into fights and patterns of negativity. Sometimes the anger, frustration, hurt and sadness are so big in the relationship it feels like there is no way back. When these things happen it can leave both partners feeling helpless and hopeless.
Disconnection Doesn’t Need to Be the End
Therapy can be a daunting endeavor for a couple. Often, one person is hesitant to show all their “stuff” to another person. I offer a safe and compassionate place to hear both voices and find the common ground of love. Together we will:
- Identify negative patterns
- Identify triggers and reactions
- Explore how prior relationships show up in your current one
- Practice new ways to manage anger, anxiety, hurt and sadness
- Create a space where both partners are seen and heard
- Create deep and lasting healing and connection as a couple
